Dear brothers
and sisters,
It
is my great honor and joy to invite you to the Slava of all Serbs
and the Slava of our Cathedral in New York City, Saint Sava.
All
Orthodox Christians celebrate Saint Sava and in particular we Orthodox
Serbs. Throughout centuries, Orthodox Serbs have gathered on the
anniversary of his blessed repose, January 27th to give thanks to
the Lord and his faithful servant, St. Sava, who gave his whole
self to serve God and his people.
It
is our wish to call upon all Serbs in New York to join millions
of Serbs in Serbia and throughout the world and start the celebrations
on Friday, January 26th with Festal evening services at 6:00 p.m.
On
Saturday, January 27th we will serve the Divine Liturgy at 10:30
a.m. Following the Liturgy we will bless the Slava Bread and Wheat
which will be prepared by Kum Igor Reljic and his family.
At
1:00 p.m. in the Church hall there will be a Svetosavski program
prepared by the children who attend our Sunday School.
At
2:00 p.m. the Slava lunch will be served in the church hall.
Dear
brothers and sisters, please plan to attend and share with us the
spiritual and Festal joy of this blessed Serbian celebration.
Spiritual Father Rev. Djokan Majstorovic
